Today’s a new day. Or at least it felt like one. I’m still sad and frankly I feel a bit slighted with the loss of all those little things that bring a school year to a close. No Mother’s Day tea with my little boy. Little graduation ceremony. No field trips or spring plays. Turns out I can handle my own personal disappointments, like postponed international trips, WAY better then I can handle watching the disappointments on my little boys’ faces 😔 It all stinks and it’s ok to acknowledge the sucky. But there’s also lovely here and I’m determined to find it. Now I can make a mean treasure hunt but I feel entirely inadequate to actually teach them anything, you know, intelligence-related. But I get to snuggle them more.
