Have you ever dreamed something up in your head and had to wait patiently to watch it come to life? You can’t know for sure how it’s going to turn out, but you take some risks and trust your gut anyway? That’s what this house is for me. I’d never designed anything in my life before we built this house, but I did it anyway. I wasn’t confident in my ability to select light fixtures or paint colors or knob pulls, but it I did anyway. The process was longer and harder than I thought it’d be, but I did it anyway. And now I walk in this bathroom every dang day and marvel at how it all came together, in spite of all my doubts and shortcomings. So that thing you’re dreaming of that scares you to death—the words you’re not saying, the risks you’re not taking, the creativity you’re stifling—just do it anyway. DO IT ANYWAY.
