Linoleum is now available in a very large variety of different colors and patterns and in modern styles, so that it is very popular and can enhance rooms. The floor, which consists of raw materials, is therefore more sustainable than, for example, a plastic floor. The resilience and durability are high and the maintenance of the floor covering is easy. Regular cleaning is still important because dirt has a bad effect on the durability of the floor covering. Granular dirt in particular can cause damage as it increases the abrasive side. In addition, the shine can be lost if not cared for properly. It should be noted that the floor can be damaged by unsuitable cleaning items such as agents and unsightly stains are also possible.
- Stains: Water stains on the floor give an unclean impression. Therefore wipe with a damp cloth rather than a wet one.
- Shine: If you want to give the floor a new shine, you can use milk. Mix this in a 1:1 ratio with water and use it to clean the floor.
- Protection: To protect the floor permanently, you should finally clean it with floor wax and water. This ensures good long-term protection. Smaller scratches can be touched up quickly using a car touch-up pen in the same colour.
Clean The Linoleum Floor With Vinegar
You should only use diluted vinegar so that you do not wash out the lime scale it contains. A dash of vinegar with 5% acid is enough to get a nice shiny and streak-free floor covering. Diluted vinegar can also be used to remove stubborn stains. When it comes to dosing, the following applies: less is more. If the dirt and adhesions are too coarse, you can carefully remove them with a scraper or, even better, soften them with water and a little washing-up liquid.
Clean The Linoleum Floor With Lemon
The acid cleans and disinfects at the same time. Add a dash of lemon juice to lukewarm water.
- Milk: You can also use a 1:1 mixture of water and milk to remove stains from linoleum floors.
- Rinse aid for more shine: You can also use a commercially available rinse aid to give the linoleum floor a shine. A small splash in the water is enough. Be good for budget with the dosage, because too much rinse aid promotes unsightly streaks.
Linoleum is quite insensitive and hard-wearing, but regular care is important to preserve the floor covering. First remove the coarse dirt by sweeping with a broom or vacuuming.
